Asad Guliyev drew attention to artists’ responses to this theme from the very first days of the tragedy, highlighting how feelings of national grief and dignity were expressed through painting, graphic art, and sculpture.
The lecture also emphasized the importance of valuable artworks on this subject preserved in the museum’s collection, both as visual “historical documents” and as outstanding examples of artistic excellence.
The lecture was followed with great attention by the audience, and the presented artworks and analyses generated broad interest.
