On April 9, the Azerbaijan National Museum of Art hosted the opening of the exhibition “On the Wings of Time. Vugar Ali,” featuring works by the distinguished representative of contemporary visual art, Honored Artist Vugar Ali, along with the presentation of a book of the same title.

Speeches were delivered by Deputy Minister of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan Murad Huseynov, museum director and associate professor Shirin Melikova, Deputy Minister of Science and Education Idris Isayev, Rector of the Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Arts, Professor Jeyran Mahmudova, and the author of the book, Vice-Rector of the university and PhD in Art History Sevil Karimova.

In their remarks, they emphasized that national and spiritual values, fairy-tale motifs, and symbolic imagery hold a special place in the artist’s works. The importance of the monograph on the artist, written by Sevil Karimova, was also highlighted. It was noted that the publication, prepared in Azerbaijani and English, presents the artist’s system of imagery, symbolic language, and plastic means of expression within a broader context, linking them to national and cultural codes.

At the end of the event, Vugar Ali expressed his gratitude to everyone involved in organizing the exhibition and producing the book, and invited guests to explore the exhibition.
