13 марта в Азербайджанском национальном музее искусств открылась выставка под названием «Рождение сюзане. История мастера вышивки». Проект, организованный Министерством культуры Азербайджанской Республики и Азербайджанским национальным музеем искусств при поддержке Посольства Узбекистана в Азербайджане и Ассоциации «Hunarmand», посвящён художнице Мадине Касымбаевой, чьё творчество является редким примером современного продолжения великой традиции и способствует возрождению ташкентской школы вышивки.
On March 13, the exhibition titled “The Birth of Suzani. The Story of an Embroiderer” opened at the Azerbaijan National Museum of Art. The project, organized by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Azerbaijan National Museum of Art, with the support of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Azerbaijan and the Hunarmand Association, is dedicated to the artist Madina Kasimbayeva, whose work represents a rare example of the modern continuation of a great tradition and contributes to the revival of the Tashkent embroidery school.
At the opening ceremony, speeches were delivered by the Deputy Minister of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan Saadat Yusifova, Director of the Azerbaijan National Museum of Art, Doctor of Philosophy in Art Studies Shirin Melikova, Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Azerbaijan Bahrom Ashrafkhanov, curator of the exhibition, Doctor of Philosophy in Art Studies Binafsha Nodir, renowned representative of Uzbek embroidery art Madina Kasimbayeva, Chairman of the Hunarmand Association Rasuljon Mirzaahmedov, and President of the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation Aktoty Raimkulova.
The speakers emphasized the important role of Suzani art in the decorative and applied arts of Central Asia, as well as the significance of preserving and promoting Uzbekistan’s rich embroidery traditions. It was noted that this exhibition would contribute to strengthening the strong cultural ties between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan and promote the shared artistic traditions of the two nations.
