On February 20, the opening ceremony of an exhibition dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of People's Artist Davud Kazimov was held at the Azerbaijan National Museum of Art.

The opening ceremony, attended by numerous public figures, featured speeches by Saadat Yusifova, Deputy Minister of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan; Shirin Melikova, Director of the Azerbaijan National Museum of Art; Rafael Huseynov, Director of the National Museum of Azerbaijani Literature and Member of Parliament; Natig Aliyev, Rector of the Azerbaijan State Academy of Fine Arts; People's Artists Omar Eldarov and Fuad Salayev; Telman Ibrahimov, PhD in Art History; and Akif Kazimov, son of Davud Kazimov and professor at the Academy of Fine Arts.

The speakers highlighted the prominent artist’s contributions to the development of Azerbaijani fine arts, his impact on the national school of painting, and his role in nurturing young artists. Heartfelt memories were shared regarding his high personal qualities and his mentorship of students. Following the speeches, guests toured the exhibition.

The exhibition will remain open until March 31, 2026.
