On 20-21 December, 2024, the next meeting of the coordinating countries of the Union of Museums of TURKSOY was held in the capital of the Republic of Turkey, Ankara. The director of the Azerbaijan National Museum of Art Shirin Malikova took part in the event as the coordinator of the Union from our country. The meeting was attended by the heads of museums from Turkey, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Gagauzia (Republic of Moldova).

The work plan of the Union of Museums of TURKSOY for 2025, protection and popularization of cultural heritage, expansion of relations between museums of Turkic states, joint research work, implementation of exhibition projects, exchange of experience and other issues were discussed.

Secretary General of TURKSOY Sultan Rayev, who took part in the closing ceremony of the event, wished success to the activities of the Union of Museums in the coming new year. It should be noted that within the framework of the meeting, a number of museums, including the Azerbaijan National Museum of Art, became members of the Union of Museums of TURKSOY. As part of the cultural programme organized for them, the country coordinators also visited the July 15 Democracy Museum,The Ethnography Museum of Ankara, the Ankara Painting and Sculpture Museum and other museums in Ankara, and took part in a concert of the folk dances.
