On December 16, a training program titled “Museum Studies” was held at the Azerbaijan National Museum of Art for the Republican Children and Youth Development Center, a Public Legal Entity.
During the training conducted by the staff of the Azerbaijan National Museum of Art, participants were provided with detailed information on the principles of museum operations, rules for the preservation and restoration of exhibits, collection management, as well as modern methods of organizing exhibitions and the specifics of presenting them to visitors.
Vafa Aslanova, Deputy Director for the Preservation and Registration of Museum Exhibits and Chief Curator of the Collections at the Azerbaijan National Museum of Art, spoke extensively about museum collection management, including acquisition methods, museum documentation, preparation of official acts, exhibit registration, passports, photographs, electronic media, the Law on Museums, and museum guidelines.
In the section presented by Araz Osmanov, Deputy Director of the Azerbaijan National Museum of Art, information was provided on the creation of permanent and temporary exhibition displays.
Günel Zaur, a staff member of the Culture and Education Department of the Azerbaijan National Museum of Art, discussed the organization of guided tours, requirements for excursion texts, and different types of tours.
At the end of the program, participants visited the museum’s permanent exhibitions showcasing unique works of Azerbaijani and world art, as well as the exhibition “Mirza Qadim Iravani: A 200-Year Chronicle of Art”, dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the prominent artist and founder of realist easel painting in national fine art, Mirza Qadim Iravani.
The training not only provided participants with a comprehensive understanding of the fundamental principles of museum work but also sparked strong interest in the nuances of the field and helped generate new ideas for future professional development.
