As part of the collaboration between the Azerbaijan National Museum of Art and the Social Services Agency, a special event was held to mark “Human Rights Month,” which is observed annually from May 18 to June 18.
The event, held on June 4, brought together children with physical disabilities involved in the socio-psychological rehabilitation program of the Absheron Social Services Center of the Social Services Agency under the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Azerbaijan, along with their parents. The main aim of the program was to enhance children's engagement with art, support their social integration, and foster their creative potential.
Within the framework of the event, a lecture titled “Child Images in Visual Art” was delivered by Gunel Zaur, an art historian and staff member of the Culture and Education Department of the Azerbaijan National Museum of Art. Afterwards, a thematic tour and a master class were organized for the children. Through museum exhibits, participants explored how images of children are represented in Azerbaijani visual art.
