Museum Behaviour Rules

IT IS PROHIBITED ON THE MUSEUM PREMISES

I. Bringing (including consuming) the following:
• Drinks (bottled beverages, drinks in thermoses, cardboard and plastic cups, alcoholic beverages)
• Food
• Any type of combat, service, and civilian weapons (firearms, cold weapons, traumatic, pneumatic, gas, signal,
deactivated weapons, etc.)
• Toys that imitate any kind of weapon, copies of antique weapons
• Sharp or cutting objects (knives – including utility knives, scissors, multitools, etc.)
• Fireworks, stun guns, gas canisters, cosmetic sprays, flammable, poisonous, or toxic substances
• Works of visual art, musical instruments
• Bicycles, rollerblades, scooters, electric scooters, gyroscooters, segways, and other similar means of transportation
• Flowers
• Animals (except for guide dogs)


II. Entering the museum halls:
• Wearing jackets, windbreakers, vests, coats, raincoats, trench coats, down jackets, parkas, fur coats, sheepskin
coats, or any other outerwear made of any materials (as well as leather jackets or blazers) or bringing these items
with you.
• Wearing evening dresses (except when participating in relevant events).
• Carrying bulky bags, backpacks larger than 30x40x20 cm.
• Carrying an umbrella.
• Failing to present the ticket to the attendants upon request.


III. In the museum halls:
• Failing to observe etiquette rules.
• Being in an intoxicated state.
• Smoking (including electronic cigarettes).
• Touching exhibits, display cases, or interior elements.
• Crossing designated barriers.
• Taking photographs with a flash, tripod, stabilizer, or monopod (selfie stick).
• Conducting any *photo sessions without prior approval from museum administration, including those taken with a
mobile phone.
• Engaging in commercial or promotional activities, including working on creative projects, without prior approval
from museum administration.
• Conducting professional photography or videography – i.e., using a tripod, additional lighting and/or sound
recording equipment, colour charts, extra power sources, or requiring special preparation of museum spaces and
objects – without prior approval from museum administration.
• Using electrical outlets to charge mobile devices or operate electronic appliances.
• Speaking loudly or playing audio guides through external speakers.
• Talking on a mobile phone.
• Leading tours without a museum-appointed guide.
• Littering or polluting the museum premises.

IV. Visitors and group leaders are responsible for:
• For any offenses committed while on museum premises, in accordance with the applicable administrative, criminal,
and civil laws of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
• For any material damage caused, in accordance with the applicable labour laws of the Republic of Azerbaijan


NOTE: *A photo session is defined as a wedding, costume, fashion, or any other staged photo or video session
involving a model or object, conducted by a photographer or videographer (including those taken with a mobile phone).
The museum reserves the right to classify a photo session based on one or more of the following criteria:
• Prolonged posing of a model in front of the person conducting the photo or video recording.
• The presence of interchangeable clothing, footwear, accessories, or other additional items used sequentially
during the shoot by models or photographers.
• Extended photo or video recording of brought-in objects within the museum interiors from a fixed vantage point.
• A clearly defined group of visitors divided into models and a photographer/ videographer, where one or more
individuals consistently pose while another photographs, records, or prepares the setup (when the group’s
primary activity in the museum halls revolves around filming or preparing for it)

Photo and Video Recording on the Museum Premises

• Amateur photography and videography are permitted in the museum without the use of flash, tripods, or monopods
(selfie sticks).
• Visitors are allowed to take photos with exhibits in the background, but without using a monopod (selfie stick) and
while maintaining a reasonable distance from paintings or sculptures. Please be careful – while trying to capture
the perfect shot, you may accidentally touch an exhibit or disturb other visitors. Be respectful of others who come to
appreciate the artwork, not those taking photos of it.
