Togrul Sadikhzade (1926-1995), an Honored Art Worker of Azerbaijan, was born into a prominent family of Azerbaijani intelligentsia, with his father being the famous writer Seyid Huseyn and his mother the poetess Ummugulsum. After graduating from the Azim Azimzadeh State Art School, he eagerly embraced opportunities to showcase his artistry, participating in national, all-Union, and international exhibitions from the 1950s onward. As a talented painter who embraced the traditions of national art, Sadikhzade gained widespread recognition for his miniatures illustrating Fizuli's poem ‘Leyli and Majnun,’ as well as for his skillfully crafted portraits. One of his notable works, the still life titled ‘Medieval Ceramics,’ showcases T. Sadikhzade’ connection to Azerbaijani folk art, particularly in the realm of ceramics. This masterful composition is characterized by the precise arrangement of still life elements and a unique use of color.
