On January 30, a lecture entitled "Life and creativity of Azim Azimzade" dedicated to the 145th anniversary of the famous Azerbaijani artist Azim Azimzade was held at the Azerbaijan National Museum of Art. In the lecture presented by Gulnaz Mustafayeva, a senior researcher of the Scientific and Research Department of ANMA, the artist's interesting life path, creative stages and contributions to national art were discussed.

In the lecture, the artistic legacy of Azim Azimzadeh, the founder of the art of caricature in Azerbaijan - the satirical drawings and caricatures, clothing and decoration sketches he drew for the magazine "Molla Nasreddin" and the "Hophopname" of M.A. Sabir, the great wordsmith, became the object of analysis. His works criticizing social problems, exhibiting a strong attitude towards illiteracy, inequality and other traditions that are against the cultural development of the people have been mentioned. Photographs of numerous graphic examples preserved in the museum's collection of the famous artist were shown and it was emphasized that these works are a valuable heritage for our art.
Speaking later, the head of the scientific-research department, doctor of philosophy in art studies, Telman Ibrahimov noted that A. Azimzade had a great influence on the next generation of artists and created a school in Azerbaijani fine art.
At the end of the lecture, which was received with great interest by the audience, the questions that interested them were answered.
