On February 19, a lecture titled "The Creativity of Elchin Shamilli and the 'Contemporary Art' Landscape in Azerbaijan" was held at the Azerbaijan National Museum of Art.

The event, organized in a discussion format, featured speeches by Teymur Daimi, PhD in Philosophy, fine arts researcher Rafael Gulmammadli, historian Akbar Najaf, and Rufat Taghizade, Deputy Chairman of the Department for Work with Enterprises of the Student Education Loan Fund. The speakers emphasized that conceptual thinking, the relationship between text and visuals, and a philosophical approach form the core of Elchin Shamilli’s work. They noted that his projects are among those that establish a theoretical foundation for contemporary art in Azerbaijan.

During the discussion, an analysis of the current state of "Contemporary Art" in Azerbaijan was conducted, exploring the potential of local artists and projects on an international scale, as well as future development prospects for the field.

The discussion, which included a Q&A session, provided participants with the opportunity to view modern art processes from a different perspective and gain a general understanding of emerging trends in the industry.
