On May 8, a lecture titled “The Vivid Images in Oqtay Sadigzade’s Art” was held at the Azerbaijan National Museum of Art, dedicated to the 102nd anniversary of National Leader Heydar Aliyev’s birth.
On May 8, a lecture titled “The Vivid Images in Oqtay Sadigzade’s Art” was held at the Azerbaijan National Museum of Art, dedicated to the 102nd anniversary of National Leader Heydar Aliyev’s birth.
The lecture was presented by Nurana Selimli, the museum’s academic secretary and PhD in Art Studies. She spoke about the life and creative path of People’s Artist Oqtay Sadigzade, who made significant contributions to the fields of graphic and pictorial art, and explored the unique features of his work.
The lecture highlighted prominent portraits that hold an important place in Sadigzade’s artistic legacy — including those of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, academician Zarifa Aliyeva, Queen Elizabeth II (created on Heydar Aliyev’s commission), as well as portraits of Khurshidbanu Natavan, her mother the poetess Ummugulsum khanim, and other distinguished figures preserved in the museum’s collection.
