At the Azerbaijan National Museum of Art, the next topic within the “Lecture at the Museum” project focused on the creative path of Munavvar Rzayeva — an Honored Artist and the first female representative of monumental sculpture in Azerbaijani art history.
The lecture, presented by art historian Vagif Mugalli, senior research fellow of the museum’s Exhibition and Design Department, featured photographs reflecting the life of the prominent sculptor, along with her priceless and unique works of art created from the early stages of her career until the end of her life. These included monumental sculptures dedicated to state and literary figures, heroes of labor, as well as busts, portraits, and other works.
Listeners received detailed information about the creation dates and artistic features of the sculptures of M. Mushfig, S. Gaziyeva, A. Sultanova in Baku; S. Yesenin in Mardakan; M. Ganjavi and N. Rafibeyli in Ganja; S. Vurgun in Imishli; and M.A. Sabir in Quba. The lecture was met with great interest by the audience.
