On December 17, the Azerbaijan National Museum of Art hosted the opening of the exhibition “The Color of the Voice”, dedicated to the 110th anniversary of the legendary artist Rashid Behbudov, whose unique voice and songs introduced Azerbaijani music to the world. The exhibition was organized by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Azerbaijan National Museum of Art, and the Rashid Behbudov Foundation, with the support of Azerbaijan International Bank. The exhibition features artworks selected from the collections of the Azerbaijan National Museum of Art, the Azerbaijan State Art Gallery, and Rashid Behbudov’s personal collection.

At the opening ceremony, speeches were delivered by the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Adil Kerimli; Director of the Azerbaijan National Museum of Art, Shirin Malikova; Chairman of the Board of Azerbaijan International Bank, Abbas Ibrahimov; Honored Artist and Senior Restorer, Natiq Safarov; Director of the Rashid Behbudov Foundation, Kamil Shahverdiyev; and Chairman of the Union of Artists of Azerbaijan, People’s Artist, Professor Farhad Khalilov. They emphasized Behbudov’s invaluable contributions to national music and cinema through his distinctive performance and acting skills, as well as his role in promoting Azerbaijani culture internationally.

During the event, a short video about the creation of the portrait “Rashid Behbudov” by People’s Artist Asaf Jafarov in 1975 was shown. After the official part, guests toured and familiarized themselves with the exhibition.
