On September 24, the National Art Museum of the Republic of Belarus hosted the opening of the exhibition “Sattar Bahlulzade – Creator of Invisible Worlds”, featuring works from the collection of the Azerbaijan National Museum of Art.
Dedicated to the creativity of Sattar Bahlulzade, one of the prominent representatives of 20th-century Azerbaijani fine art and a genius of modern landscape painting, the exhibition is jointly organized by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Belarus, the Azerbaijan National Museum of Art., and the National Art Museum of Belarus.
At the opening ceremony, Director of the National Art Museum of Azerbaijan, Shirin Malikova, and Director of the National Art Museum of Belarus, Anna Kononova, delivered speeches.
In their addresses, they highlighted Sattar Bahlulzade’s invaluable role in the development of Azerbaijani painting. It was noted that the exhibition contributes to the development of cultural relations between Azerbaijan and Belarus and strengthens the bonds of friendship between the two peoples.
The exhibition “Sattar Bahlulzade – Creator of Invisible Worlds” presents to the audience the great artist’s unique place in Azerbaijani fine art, his creative philosophy, and his distinctive artistic style.
The exposition features about 30 paintings and graphic works reflecting the beauty of the artist’s native nature. Alongside poetic and philosophical works of symbolic meaning, such as “The Desire of the Land,” “The Beauty of the Caspian,” “The Tears of Kapaz,” and “Gulustan,” the exhibition also includes landscapes delicately portraying the color harmonies of nature.
The opening ceremony featured performances by Azerbaijan’s “Sarı Gelin” dance ensemble and the “Polyphonica” choir.
The exhibition will run until November 24, 2025.
