On May 19, the Azerbaijan National Museum of Art hosted the official opening of the exhibition “Nesvizh — Heritage of World Culture” by the Nesvizh National Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve of the Republic of Belarus.
Ayten Ahmadova, Deputy Director for Scientific Research at the National Museum of Art of Azerbaijan and PhD in Art Studies, welcomed the event participants and provided detailed information about the exhibition, which was organized with the support of the Ministries of Culture of Azerbaijan and Belarus. She emphasized that this cultural event represents another important contribution to the development of relations between the two countries.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Dmitry Pinevich, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to Azerbaijan, and Nataliya Zherko, Deputy Director of the Nesvizh Museum-Reserve, expressed their satisfaction in presenting the magnificent Nesvizh Castle — once the residence of the famous Radziwiłł family — to the Azerbaijani public.
Following the speeches, guests watched a video presentation featuring visuals of the unique architectural monument, which is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
Nesvizh Castle — embodying the harmonious blend of Renaissance elegance, Baroque dynamism, and Classical order — is a unique venue with nearly fifty museum halls showcasing the achievements of both ancient and modern Belarusian culture.
The exhibition, composed of 23 display panels, features exterior and interior views of the Nesvizh Castle (dating from the 16th to 18th centuries), as well as photographs of the exhibition halls.
A particularly memorable aspect of the exhibition was the themed tour conducted by museum staff dressed in costumes reflecting the atmosphere of the Middle Ages.
The exhibition will remain open to visitors until June 15, 2025.
