From 11 to 17 November 2025, the 27th General Conference of the International Council of Museums (ICOM) was held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Organized under the theme “The Future of Museums in Rapidly Changing Communities,” the conference brought together more than 3,000 museum professionals from around the world.

Organized under the theme “The Future of Museums in Rapidly Changing Communities,” the conference brought together more than 3,000 museum professionals from around the world.
The Director of the Azerbaijan National Museum of Art, Associate Professor and PhD in Art Studies Shirin Malikova, took part in the conference.
Within the framework of the international event, Shirin Malikova held a number of productive meetings with representatives of leading museums and cultural institutions from different countries, discussing future cooperation and the implementation of joint projects.
Ms. Shirin also gave an interview to a Saudi Arabian television channel as an expert on the Qajar period.
